En 2018, le Palais abbatial de Saint-Hubert et le Musée des Fourneaux Saint-Michel ont offert à Stephane Kozik l’opportunité de piocher dans la réserve du Musée des éléments qui pourraient l’intéresser en vue d’une création plastique sonore. L’artiste sonore s’est dirigé vers une vieille machine agricole qui porte le nom de « râteleuse » et qui servait à gratter la terre. Dans un premier temps, il a ausculté cette machine
à l’aide d’un stéthoscope pour en répertorier et cartographier tous les sons qui pouvaient l’intéresser. Ensuite, il l’a démontée, ajustée et enfin réassemblée pour en faire un instrument très riche de sonorités.
Pour l’ouverture de l’exposition « D’avance à rebours » au Palais abbatial de Saint-Hubert, Stephane Kozik réalise un concert avec cette machine poétique pour un moment sensoriel et sonore. Le dispositif utilisé fut automatisé et présenté en tant qu’installation qui fut visible durant toute la durée de l’exposition.

In 2018, the Abbey Palace of Saint-Hubert and the Fourneaux Saint-Michel museum, offered to Stephane Kozik the opportunity to draw from the Museum’s reserve elements that might interest him with a view to a plastic sound creation. The sound artist went to an old agricultural machine called a “rake” which was used to scrape the earth. At first, he examined this machine using a stethoscope to list and map all the sounds that could interest him. Then, he dismantled it, adjusted it and finally reassembled it to make it an instrument with a very rich sound.
For the opening of the exhibition « D’avance à rebours » at the Abbey Palace of Saint-Hubert, Stephane Kozik performs a concert with this poetic machine for a sensory and sound moment. The device used was automated and presented as an installation that was visible throughout the duration of the exhibition.
